Picture Perfect!

Finally an on-screen couple that makes sense. I for one was tired of seeing Katrina Kaif with older men like Akshay Kumar, Govinda and Salman Khan. About time she was paired with someone her age, don’t you think?

At least Ranbir Kapoor had a better mix, as he was paired with older and younger women almost equally. Amongst the older lot there has been Bipasha Basu and Konkona Sen Sharma, while the younger clan has Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor.

Katrina has always been made to look a little older than she is, so she doesn’t look way younger than her partner on screen. But since Ranbir and Katrina are round about the same age, in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani she is looking her age, as is Ranbir. What a relief!

If you’ve seen the trailers you’ll agree with me when I say they look so awesomely adorable together. I can see hints of chemistry there, whether it will work when we watch the film is what I’m waiting to know.

Young or old…what’s there:P

Female actors being paired with men who are old enough to be their fathers is a trend in the film industry. Look at Katrina and Akshay, or Shah Rukh and Deepika. So is the fact that a lot of older female artists are playing the love interests of younger men. Case in point: Shahid Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee in Dil Bole Hadippa.

If you’ve seen the trailers you would have noticed that Shahid has been given a more grown-up look so as to look older than Rani. Not very tough considering that she is only a few years his senior. But the fact is that she has a very mature face, and Shahid looks young for his age.

Perhaps to not look like his mother Rani has worked out extensively. As a result she is looking younger, and her body definitely looks more toned.

There seems to be some level of comfort between the two, as witnessed in the songs; how good the chemistry really is we’ll know once we watch the film!

Meow-Rats

Imraan Khan and Genelia D’Souza who looked oh-so-adorable in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na will be back together in 7 Days in Paris.

Initially it was Katrina Kaif who was supposed to be playing the leading lady but as the role was not good enough she stepped out. Priyanka Chopra quoted the sun, moon and the stars and she is out. And that’s when Genelia stepped in.

There might even be a sequel to Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na in which they are on the brink of divorce.

Katrina-Neil-John

Katrina Kaif, Neil Nitin Mukesh and John Abraham are starring in New York (2009). And this is what happens when three good lookers get together, single or otherwise.

Even as Salman Khan was rumoured to be involved with Claudia Ciesla and Asin, the rumour mills played match maker and linked Katrina Kaif and John Abraham. Bipasha Basu scoffed at these rumours and John Abraham thought it was ridiculous. Salman Khan is yet to beat him up so maybe they were just rumours.

But Neil Nitin Mukesh was not so lucky. He answered a call from Katrina’s cell and murmurred “Hi Sweetheart” only to find Salman Khan on the other side who was clearly not happy.

New York movie is set to release soon and will see the three actors onscreen for the first time. New York songs are already being said to be worth a listen.

Hasta La Vista Baby!

This has been one ending that people have been anticipating since it began. And looks like it now has the official stamp declaring it’s all over.

The Katrina–Salman love story did not have a fairy tale ending but did have it’s moments and made a good story. It had love. It had some maar-peet too. It also had the other woman to spice things up.

Following his nasty break up with Aishwarya Rai, it didn’t take long for Salman to find Katrina who had made her debut in the disastrous Boom. The much younger actress and Salman Khan became all the rage overnight even as the guessing game of how long she would last kicked in.

Katrina is said to enjoy a good chemistry with Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani co-star Ranbir Kapoor. Though Salman Khan helped her land roles, she became  a success in the arms of Akshay Kumar. And she was miffed with Sallu for picking a fight with Shah Rukh Khan at her birthday party, thanks to which it is rumoured that she lost out on some roles.

Salman on the other hand was first linked with Zarine, who looked like Katrina and then with his London Dreams co-star Asin for whom he bought a pup. He is also vocal about his appreciation for the German model (not a nude model as reported in the media) Claudia Ciesla. And with Kat turning down his proposal to focus on her career, Sallu doesn’t seem willing to wait forever.

No Lovin in Bollywood

Cupid seems to have resigned from Bollywood as the past week has been a quiet one.  After an overdose of couples doing it and those who stopped doing it and then again those who did it with someone else, the dust has settled.

Preity Zinta confirmed that she is single but will not get involved with cricketers, married men and actors. So you can strike off Shekhar Kapoor and Yuvvraj Singh as possiblities.

Gerard Butler is apparently going all out to woo Priyanka Chopra who seems to have nothing going on with Shahid Kapoor who now has Vidya Balan as a neighbour.

And Katrina Kaif who has not read the book How To Say No is said run to the loo every time Salman Khan pops the question.

Akshay-Katrina

Akshay Kumar gave Katrina Kaif something Salman Khan couldn’t – the big O at the box office.

Not only do they look great together, they both became each other’s lucky charms.

Namastey London and Singh is Kinng gave their career a boost.

Katrina, with her new found success tried Yuvvraj with Salman Khan but that didn’t do anything for her.

On the other hand, Akshay, who was creating a buzz about how he had dethroned Shah Rukh Khan, fell flat on his face with Chandni Chowk to China with Deepika Padukone. Nagesh Kukunoor‘s 8×10 Tasveer with Ayesha Takia also garnered average reviews.

If Blue in which both actors come together petrforms well, they may want to stick together.

Deepika-Ranbir

Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani has Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor acting opposite each other. But love seems to have bloomed off the camera as well, if the rags are to be believed.

Several rumours have been making rounds of the Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan break up. First, Salman Khan was linked with a Katrina look alike Zarine and then with his London Dreams co-star Asin.

Adding a twist to this already convoluted tale, Ranbir’s sister said in an interview that Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor were never a couple after Deepika and Ranbir have publicly acknowledged that they are seeing each other for many months now!

Is this the end of one relationship and the start of a new one?

Lara Dutta, Dino Morea, Nandita Mahtani – Lara Dutta has left Dino who has been re-linked with his ex Nandita Mahtani.

Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Asin – Salman Khan and Asin fuelled runours owing to their chemistry on the sets of London Dreams.
